ok lets give some background.1 this is my sisters cat2 it is a tom boy 3 he was a stray but ran away. thankfully sm1 found him and saw the lost flyer and called so we could get him backk. he has a long ish coat. every time he grooms his chest his tounge gets stuck in his fur. my sister, her fiancee and i feel so bad. we were wondering if we could trim that section of fur so his tounge doesn't get stuck. plz no rude commentsand i need real answers. not any thing like idk or i don't know or smthgwhen i said he's a tom, i was relating 2 a book series called warriors. all cat lovers should read it. sorry 4 the confusion. pretty soon after reading it i started talking in that sort of manner. toms, she cats, crow food, ect.
Please can you give some cat grooming advice?
I have a 2 year old long haired, ginger, neutered tom cat, brought from a rescue centre. He is fantastic in every way but just hates being groomed, to the point he will sulk and disappear for a day or two. Any advice on how to prevent matting of his fur would be gratefully received by me and him.
Anyone with experience grooming persians? Or other long haired cats?
My husband and I were just petting our 5 month old persian kitten. In the last several weeks it seems like she has gotten fluffier and fluffier every day. We just found too huge balls of hair behind each of her ears.. hidden in her other hair. They're not like mattes I've seen in other cats before but that must be what they are...? Do we just cut through them to get them out? We pet her ALL the time, so I don't know how we didn't notice. We obviously need to be more diligent about brushing her daily. But she doesn't have any problems anywhere else.

Why is my cat over grooming? He is licking fur clean off..?
My cat is two yeas old and has begun over grooming his rear. He did it a bit to his front paws also but has stopped. There are only a few bald spots, with a little scabbing. Otherwise he is as happy as can be. There haven't been any changes in his environment or behavior to contribute to this new habit. Does your cat do this?The cone around his neck is the fastest solution but when I used the same method on another cat, she became traumatized by the cone. She hated walking with it on. Now she refuses to walk on the ground, she navigates on all the high shelves we have outside. He is an outside inside cat and the other cats are mean to the cat with the cone, they tried to pick her off because they think she is weak or sick.

My cat has been looking pretty shabby lately, she gives herself baths religiously but the thing is she will not let me brush her, she'll start to bite and run off if I try. So, I figured I could take her to a professional groomer because they know what they're doing. How can I destress my cat from excessive grooming?
My 5 yr old female is over grooming and the vet said she is stressed to the max. Her little tummy is almost bare. She is the protector of the house and has given herself this role from very early on. She is alway active at night, checking out the windows, runs out the cat door everytime theres a noise outside etc. She rules the house and is a bully to our 2 boys who are older. she's a ginger, go figure. Does anyone have any tips on how to destress the home and help her to chill out?
How can I stop my cat from grooming constantly?
She grooms herself all the time. She then throws up fur balls everyday. I have tried all kinds of fur ball remedies, from foods to lubricants, to brushing her. She seems really content except for her OCD cleanliness.

I know this means that they love each other and that they are bonding, but I'm a little worried because one of the other cats sometimes forces the other to be cleaned when she is obviously against it. She opposing cat will whine and hiss, and the other cat will not let her up and she will look up sometimes at nothing, a little crazy like. Ha ha. Is it normal for cats to force groom?
Is grooming people normal cat behaviour?
My two year old cat Lottie grooms people's hair. She climbs on their backs and holds their head still in her paws and grooms like there is no tomorrow. She only grooms people with short hair, so mainly men. She will also lick my hands, arms, feet, legs whatever skin is available. She has done this from when she was a kitten but it has been getting alot more frequent lately. Is this just showing affection or has she got an OCD?
